About The Village Yarn
Hi, I’m Christina. You can call me Stina. (I use she/her.) I am a true Midwesterner. I say I’ve lived in every contiguous state from MN to the Atlantic Ocean. But I’ve been here in the Detroit Metro area for 13 years and in the city itself (West Village) for 5. One of my brothers and his wife live in Corktown. The other one is in California and our parents are in Minnesota. Ione and Skye are the black cats that guard my home. My dad taught me to crochet when I was in grade school. I taught myself to knit about 10 years ago. I’ve also been known to cross-stitch, embroider, and do other crafts. (Mom quilts, so I never caught the sewing bug.) I’ve been thinking about opening a yarn shop for over 3 years. I call myself a yarn snob, but I’m equally happy to use a basic acrylic yarn as a fancy merino/silk blend.
